I have ordered the required IDC cable.got bitten by https://github.com/sinara-hw/Zotino/issues/23Pinout is compatible, so I suppose we can just remove the plastic projection in the middle of the cable's 10-pin IDC plug with a Dremel, and assemble it carefully into the 16-pin Zotino connector.
Ran a quick test using auto tuned PID parameters. The heat sink on the Zotino is quite small and saturates fast. Placing a tiny fan next to the heat sink, it can barely reach 15 deg C before the TEC can no longer cool.
Maintaining 20 deg C does not seem to be an issue and can reject heat disturbance from my finger. Anything else I should test?
Tested the limits of the Zotino cooling. Even with very good airflow, the TEC can only reach 17.5 deg C with an ambient temperature of 27 deg C. Further lowering the temperature will require larger TEC and heatsink IMO.
Here's stability over a period of 5 minuites. Result looks reasonable given there's barely any insulation on the zotino.
