Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
The max output voltage of the MAX1968 chip (measured at ~4.7v) does not seem to match the datasheet stated max voltage of 4.3v. Not sure if this is consistent across all thermostats, or just the particular one on hand.
This makes it a bit annoying to use a preset voltage threshold to determine if the compliance voltage of the driver chip has actually been reached.
I think monitoring deviation between the current set point and current read back will be the better way of detecting if the complience voltage has been reached.

Or just assume the max voltage is 4.3V as specified, and engage the anti-windup whenever it gets close to that value, even if the chip could still drive a bit more voltage in reality.
