Adapt the previous command to the location of libstdc++ on your system.
To upgrade, on Ubuntu you need to do the following::
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-toolchain-r/test
$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install libstdc++6
